FINISHING OFF THE SIDES:

Finishing off the side panels:

Attach painters and two sided tape on the reverse side of the panel.

  

Affix painters tape to the smoothing table, (decided to rename the GIZMO). Stick the side panel to the smoothing table and remove a very fine layer of material (remembering I use this method as I am in a wheelchair, and it is nearly impossible to use a hand plain). This process would usually be done with a hand plain, scraper or just sandpaper.

I have put on a rough coat of varnish, in the hope it will give more contrast for the camera.

Apply painters tape and two side tape to the face of the side panel and the surface of the smoothing table and stick down. Again other means can be used for this process (i.e. a hand plain). Reduce the thickness of the panel to about 1 mm or even slightly thinner.

The side panel is now completed, it is now time to make and assemble the box.
